2013 Tacoma fluid change, drained about 3.2qt and filled it with about 3.5qts. Did the jumper and N-D process to get the A/T temp light on and once it’s in park it immediately goes to blinking like it’s too warm. The truck sat for about 2 hrs and was cool. Am I doing the process wrong? Why does the light not go solid when in park

Forget the geeky jumper method. Manually measure fluid temp; i.e. shine infrared temp gun at tranny oil pan. On a 60-80 degree day you'll get a reading that's about 2 degrees cooler than actual fluid temp which is close enough. Then when excess fluid is draining you can manually verify its temp. qqqijoqq.jpg

If it's hot out you will likely need to let it sit overnight for it to cool down enough to get into temp check mode (temp must be below 95F). Otherwise check the temp manually, needs to be 96-115F to check.
