    Thanks for the replies! I’m thinking about doing a drain and fill it back up through the dipstick, would you guys recommend? Or should I just leave it ? I have the 2.7 4 speed auto so I’ve read I can add thru the dipstick. Truck has 95k miles and has a tow hitch so the previous owner must have been doing some towing

    For no other reason than mileage and maintenance. Plus, you have a dip stick. You are luck:thumbsup:

    Reality. You can not judge the condition of the oil by color. Sure, when the oil is totally consumed or scorched, it will turn dark.

    Just go ahead. Do the drain & fill.
