I've got a video for you and it's a pretty simple process. First drain your pan and measure what you took out. Replace that amount with ATF that is compatible with Dextron III applications. You basically want to choose a fluid that says it meets or exceeds Dextron III because they don't make Dextron III anymore.

Next you pull off the rubber return line off the nipple of the transmission cooler built into the bottom of the radiator and drape that hose into a measuring bucket that has quart lines. You could also make your own measuring bucket but I chose to buy one instead. In the video description, I supply links to the buckets I bought off Amazon for this job. The next part is where having a helper is ideal. Your helper starts the engine while you watch the return line pump out 1 quart of fluid. When you're about at one quart, have your helper turn off the engine. Next, with a transmission funnel, add 1 quart of ATF into the transmission dipstick tube. Repeat this process until you're satisfied.

The system holds approximately 12 quarts. If you were just doing a flush of old fluid, I'd say stop at around 12 quarts. Since you put the wrong stuff in, I'd run some extra quarts through the system. So, I'd run at least 16 quarts through and see what the fluid is looking like after that. If it still looks contaminated with the wrong stuff, keep going. You may just want to go big and run a shit ton of fluid through just to be sure. Get the most affordable Dextron III compatible ATF you can buy like at Walmart and run 16 quarts through. Then follow that up with 12 quarts of the ATF you really want to be in the system.

But maybe I should have first asked WHAT you actually put in there? So, inquiring minds want to know. I'm really hoping it wasn't antifreeze.

    Here's the video:
