had my wife's CPS go on her Sorento and no grinding the engine just quits. I'm not saying conspiracy theory but limp mode yes, grinding from a sensor? WTF is up with that alleged explanation. And a CPS will def. throw a code and CE light. This will be interesting when they replace it, tell you drive anywhere you're good to go; then your back on the shoulder of the super-slab cursing their very existence.

I Googled CPS's going bad symptoms, and I don't have any of those symptoms (Misfires,CEL, Starting issues). If its the CPS, then why would I keep getting an overheated transmission fluid warning when it goes into limp mode? The times I've only had issues stalling out was when I was flooring it to climb a grade on the freeway and flooring it to pass someone on the freeway.

exactly OP why I posted my experience as what you clearly stated sounds ZERO what our CPS failure was. I'd get another opinion for sure.

The service lady at my dealer told me today they still need the truck a few more days and that she will give me a call tomorrow when she gets further details. I have a feeling its something more than just a CPS.
