can you help me out. I have a 1995 toyota tacoma, v6 3.4 liter engine, manual 4x4. I put it the car into gear but it doesn't move. When I have in neutral, there is no noise but whenever I put in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, reverse, there's this really nasty hissing sounds from under the car. Also, the clutch goes all the way to the ground and I take my foot off brake and clutch and the car doesnt stall, it stays on. I think I might be a bad clutch but I don't know too much about cars. Please help if possible

try putting the truck in gear and open the door and push, if you can move it without taking it out of gear and without your foot on the clutch Id say you have a bad clutch. Did you smell anything burned like burned brake smell?

Just in case it's unclear, whenever I shifts in the gears, the clutch stayed up and the engine never turned off

Do we still agree it's a bad clutch or could it be something else?

Since you have a 4x4, its possible that your transfer case is in neutral

My best guess is still clutch is totally fragged. Unless you have something in the shifter/trans area thats not shifting it into gear.

Yeah, I think the best bet would be to take out the transmission and check it out

It looks like it is on 2H position. Neutral would be back and to the right. And with clutch engaged you wouldn't be able to flip all gears like that.

The whole clutch thing is not good. I also noticed that the clutch pedal did not go up on its own - needed a little help from the foot under.

Yeah, I think I'm going to replace the whole clutch assembly..it'll be work and money but the end result should be amazing
