Lost all your ammo and now you try to take it personal because you got nothing left lol. Come back when you actually own a Tacoma and get out of high school.

Why continue to post on here....

My 06 with 180k on it is in the shop right now as I was experiencing some of the same issues. Downshifting issues then would not shift up past 3rd gear. I took it to a local transmission shop in town that has done work for me before. The shop just called this morning and stated that I had a code for a bad selonoid but my fluid looked goo. He is waiting for the part to come in. Hopefully I will pick it up today. I will reply back once the problem is resolved.

Nah. I'll give it to you, Toyota sucks at English grammar, as well as many other things. I'm only here to ensure people understand the importance of maintaining their service intervals, to keep their warranty in good standing. I'll agree to disagree, and just let Toyota determine if trans fluid level should ever be inspected. Weird that they give the procedure how to do it if it should only ever be replaced :notsure:

Just go ahead and shut her down mods. OP just wanted help, and in typical TW fashion, it somehow turned into a different topic and dick measuring:facepalm:

No, Just don't hear grown men use the term "has aids" when it comes to describing a vehicle.

Can you shoot the OP a PM so you can report back to him in case the thread gets locked/deleted? I have a feeling OP will end up having to make a new thread soon.

I'm sorry you feel that me pointing people to the owners/service manual for their vehicle is bad practice; I'll be the first to admit that I've interpreted things wrongly in my life - exactly why I recommend not believing me, you, or anyone else on this forum, and leaving the answer up to Toyota. If the service manual grammar has you hung up, take it up with Toyota and ask for clarification. If you interpret it as never needing to inspect fluid levels, I wish you the best. Gonna call it quits here though; hopefully you and cheese can take it to PM so OP can keep his thread and hopefully resolve his issues.

Actually it just says to inspect sealed transmissions for leaks, not to check the level, at least thats what it says at the footnotes at the bottom of the page.

That off topic guy got so mad that he couldn't read what the manual said.. It blew my mind. It literally does not say anywhere to check the transmission fluid at 30k lol. It even makes sense to check the ATF cooler lines as they tend to leak way before the trans itself would.

For what its worth I still check it then, cause I'm a smart owner, the fact that toyota doesn't want you to check it is just stupid.

I agree. I think 30k is a bit early but I would say it should be checked before 60k.

Toyota used to consider their auto trans to have "lifetime fluid" which we all know is BS.
