    "Standard". There's an archaic term.

When I got my first truck (an '82 Ford F-150), MT came "standard". An automatic was a crappy option that no one wanted presumably because you were buying problems and worse gas mileage (and also you were a badass who wanted a real truck)

Now you can't even BUY a new Ford F-150 with a "Standard" transmission. Sigh. I remember the day I found that out. I suddenly felt old.

I wouldn't call it an issue, some people feel like the trans likes to stay "busy." It works fine though. The only time I notice it is on the highway kicking back and forth, but I like to cruise about 80mph.

Most people haven't notice any issues so you are among them that see no issue. Reading TW posts and you will start to believe that you should never buy a Tacoma. Test drive and enjoy.

The test drive was great. Mine was to be at the local dealer on 11/6 and here we are on 11/9. The truck is at another dealer's lot about 90 minutes away. It's killing me not to be driving it right now. The second dealer won't give me the same deal as dealer gave me.

I got my '17 Limited today! Drove it all over the mountains of Western North Carolina without issue. Shifting six speed automatic was zero issue. People that bitch about the new truck are simply bitching 'cuz they are trolls of the interweb with nothing else to bitch about. Seriously, a fine automotive machine. Can't wait to figure the nav/Sirius radio thing out. Felt a little guilty seeing my '07 all alone in the parking lot as I drove off.
