transmission issues?

Has anyone had any issues with the automatic transmission on their 4.0 second gen tacomas. I have poked around for a while with the search function but havnt found any real threads about tranny issues or at least not major ones. Everything I have read is that they are great transmissions.

Not sure if its really a transmission issue or if its just driveline vibe issues but am really leaning twards transmission. I am getting a shuttering occasionally if the truck is going up a hill at low rpm and slower speeds (like 25-40). It also does it sometimes right before if shifts in the lower gears. It usually happens in the morning when the truck is cold but still will intermittently do it when it hot. The truck spends most its life going down the highway where it only happens occasionally in traffic so its not a big deal usually. I can prevent it most the time by taking it out of overdrive.

Some history on the tranny, I have used the truck to tow a 20 ft boat across the country a few times. When I got back I flushed the fluid, it was very dark. Probem developed after one more round trip to southern California with the boat.

Next step in tranny flush and get the oem fluid out. I have read some pretty bad things about it on here. Going to go with ams oil probably.

Anyone hear of one of transmissions going out?

I dunno , the search function is useless on this forum . Beleive me , I have tried using it many times . You are better off using a google search to look for info . When you do a search on google , its still going to point at this site for info but the searches are more refined.
