i have 1999 4wd manual transmission, and almost every time i take off from a dead stop it pops out of first gear, and makes a kinda bang noise when it does it. and i have changed the seat and the bushing under the stick, but didnt help that much, what else could it be?

IIRC, your detents are worn out, or your shifter knob is too heavy.

It's inside the transmission. You might be able to find a manual on TTORA.com. I've only messed with big truck detents.

I think theres a plastic bushing that wears out. This happened to me when I had a 94 pickup with a manual.
