    Hey guys,

Should I be worried about this ?

It doesn’t leak bad at all but it has like a drop of oil that just hangs on there. I wipe it and the drop appears again but no puddle in my garage.

Check your trans fluid level. Mine did the same thing on my 5spd manual, and it ended up being overfilled

Is this an auto or manual?

I really appreciate the help guys. I’ll check the level and also call the dealership about the seal issue

My 2009 seal went bad as well.
Same issue one drop at each time I parked it.
Easy fix... I took it to the Dealer service dept and did a Transmission fluid change at the same time.
    4 cylinder with 74,000 miles.
I did pay for the service, The truck was wrecked and may have caused slight displacement of the seal.
There is also a do-it-yourself write up in the forum and it's not too difficult.

My '06 did that for a few years. Finally had the seal replaced for $120 at the dealership.

Anyone know if it’s as fixed by removing fill bolt and letting it trickle? I have the same issue in my 15 pre runner!!!

I have an ‘09 Prerunner with a manual 5 speed that’s dripping in the same place. Is the fluid check done the same way as on the automatic tranny? Also, if I need to take it to the shop what is the thing called that is dripping?

If you’re leaning at the trans output where the driveshaft goes into, then it’s your transmission output shaft seal, Toyota upgraded the older ones with a double lipped seal, had mine replaced can do it yourself easy

Yea, that’s the spot. Thanks. Looks slightly different. Do you have a link to how to do it?

Honestly man if you’re mechanically inclined it’s fairly simple, pick yourself up a sal removal tool from harbor freight they’re around $7 or use a curved tip pick tool, pull the seal out and push the new one in, just remove your driveshaft make sure you install the shaft the same way it came off

Unfortunately my trusted mechanic retired so I’ve decided to have the dealership make the repair and would like to hear what others have paid. I see someone had it done about two years ago for $120. Any others have any cost info?
