Again if you read before assuming you will see it wasn't pot stirring, I responded to OP, another member (the one the mod had an issue with) started making statements that were false/misleading, I gave support and reason as to why he was wrong, if anyone stirred the pot it was the other member. I say many are sensitive here, because I make points that they don't like and all of a sudden thats stirring the pot? This place used to be a place for opinions, facts, feedback and discussion which has turned towards a "I don't like your response so now I'm going to report you and attack you". I'm far from sensitive, been here a long time bud, but one thing I don't stand for is assumptions and accusations towards other members that are wrong. I'll take your response as a half hearted apology.

Agree, back to the transmission update. Guy at work already has his scheduled for the lower control arm TSB, wouldn't be surprised if the transmission update is on its way for you guys having issues.

I'm guessing they would only update people with the issue, unless the update fixes more than one problem that they want everyone to get.

Any way to get S5 by default and not S4 when shifting into S mode? I'm dealing with all the transmission problems. R to D, 3-2-1, etc. S5 does make it much nicer. Bought in April, right off the truck. 3 miles on it.

Logic update..still balk at that thought when it comes into mechanical play, your drive train is not an xbox game....if it is ever released it is going to be interesting to see some new smoke and mirrors enter the market place as a means to an end for customer complaints.
If you really want to know what the fix is make them, that is Toyota explain it, document it, then stand behind it.

Why are you balking? Cars are run by computers these days and a "logic" update could make a night-and-day difference on this truck! If I can get my truck to maybe hesitate just a little bit longer before upshifting I'd be psyched! A logic update would make a huge difference for me!

Cars are not run by computers, they are managed by controllers....huge difference my friend, and extremely important to understand the difference.

OK, symantics, they are controllers and they can be programmed, but they dont run Jack. The argument that the vehicle will not operate without them is ridiculously obvious, that is the design to control and manage systems and subsystems in the vehicle from alarms to fuel control. That being said it makes no sense to tear it down from here.

My point in this thread based on how controllers operate, a flash for the drive train (logic update as per OP) is going to be interesting to see it, 1] deployed and 2] actually fix drive train design deficits.

Lastly you have to ask yourself or someone who knows can this problem be fixed with a "logic update"?
or is it inherently a design flaw that a fix is yet to be seen as in a 2017 rollout...if it is fixed in the "17" I would say there is a good chance of making this happen on the 16's, if not there you have it.

You can argue bullshit semantics all you want. Bottom line is that the tranny could be vastly improved with a logic update...
