Hey all. I drive a 2006 4.0 V6 4WD with an automatic trans that has started having issues.

When the transmission goes to downshift, especially under load/towing, the RPMs dive and it takes a second before it 'finds' the gear. The issue doesn't seem to change whether the trans is hot or cold. My best guess is the torque converter is staying locked when its trying to downshift. It's not throwing any transmission codes.

The truck has almost 250k miles, and I don't have any information on previous service/maintenance. I did a drain and fill ~500 miles ago when the issue started. The fluid looked/smelled OK and it did not have an effect on the issue.

    Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.
