I was trying to change engine oil for the first time to my Tacoma 2007, DB Cab, The oil pan was hidden and not exactly obvious as in other vehicles, I drained the transmission oil instead. to make the long story short, I found the engine oil pan and completed engine oil change. I am left with a very screwed up situation, no tranmission oil, truck is not drivable, could never find the dip stick for transmission to use it to replace drained oil, towed it to the dealer, cost me a total of $300.00. I am sure some of you can make my stupid mistake. I am hoping if you are not very familiar to read this first.

the big question now is how do you check for transmission fluid level?
and how often you should change it? forgot to ask TOYOTA called service dept. of Brunswick Toyota later, and they did not know a thing about it.

    Thanks
