    Used a 1/16" drill bit today to pin mine. Looked like a paper clip would work, so I would say 1/16" or slightly smaller. The hole is tiny to these old eyes.

    If your truck is equipped with a factory tow package you can “pin” the transmission to allow constant motion of transmission fluid flowing through the trans cooler. Check out some YouTube videos on it. Underneath the truck there is a plunger looking piece that you can put a cotter pin through. The way Toyotas ecu is programmed is for the transmission fluid to reach a fairly high temperature (higher than what some people like) before it tells the transmission cooler to start cycling. It’s all to aid in towing and keeping fluid temps as low as possible to prevent engine damage.
