    Yellow check engine light on got transmission range sensor code. I noticed that when putting it in reverse the r doesn't light up on dashboard all other gears do. Does this sensor need replacement or is this something else?

    It’s most likely the switch.
    But the actual connector for the switch has been known to corrode.
    I’d start by unplugging the connector and taking a look.
