Hey guys, my 1998 4x4 V6 Tacoma Automatic Transmission is about to bite the dust. I'm going to rebuild myself and would like to upgrade it for off-road. Anyone recommend a rebuild kit or have a list of parts I need? This will be my first rebuild so I'll take any info I can get. I would like to keep the rebuild under $3500.

If theres metal stuff floating around then you might want to replace the cooler lines and the radiator so there is no chance of contaminating the new fluid

I would go with a valve body upgrade from IPT Performance and/or a Transgo shift kit. If you really want to hook up upgrade your torque converter while you're at it.
