there is no problem with too clean. It is easy to under-fill them it seems. Important to ensure at the correct temp during top-off. Measuring technique works pretty well too + 5% or so. Better to be a little over than under.

Too cool is not great either. I believe under 160 or so, operating temp, is considered bad.

Back in the late 80s, I did a simple filter setup using a remote mount for a spin on Ph8a oil filter.
The filter mount was bolted to the frame rail and plumbed into the tranny cooler return line.
Those filters are rated for 25 microns and the mount can handle 1/2" tubing, so plenty of flow.
When it was finally taken apart, the tranny guy said it was the cleanest tranny he had ever taken apart.

Years ago, we would never change fluid.
I believe these days with shift solenoids, clean oil is a must.

So how long on average does the A750 last? My 2015 4.0 DCLB with the A750 only has about 62,000 miles on it. And now that I am retired I put on maybe 4000 miles a year. I expect the tacoma to outlast me quite easily at this rate but strangely enough non of my kids seems to want to inherit it :canada: ... And no, as someone has already asked I am not adopting a TW member :bananadance:

it will 100% outlast you if you dont wreck it. FWIW, it wouldve done that unadulterated from the factory :anonymous: I appreciate the zealous filters tho, you've done clean work

Noticed that the official magnefine online store wasn't working at the moment so sent an email to their support/sales email..

    Very quick reply

Our website is temporarily unavailable. We are working on a new store. In the meantime, you can order by calling 800-382-7233 or our Amazon store at https://www.amazon.com/s?me=A33WFIG7XLWS7&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Is anyone doing 3 drain and refills as stated in the service manual?

I only did one drain and refill at the first two changes I did before I saw the service manual; last page, steps p and q.

I did @ 65,000mi except on the third I dropped the pan and replaced the filter and cleaned the magnet. Not doing it again though fluid/filter looked brand new and there was barely anything on the magnet, think i'll be doing single drain and fills every 30k.

That's exceptional and surprising if there was almost nothing on the magnet (do you have one or more than one (4) like the on the 750F transmission pan?? I have done 2 drain and fills in the 60,000 miles I currently have on my 2015. On the last drain and fill I compared the old fluid to brand new fluid. Was a little darker red but still clean and clear. Will be doing a pad drop and clean in the summer and curious whats on the magnets since i have been running a magnefine since very early on.

Every dealer or shop has given me a different recommendation on changing fluid. I'll likely go between 60-75k.
