    Anyone in the PMA that has had a Tacoma transmission rebuilt? My mechanic just broke the news that he suspects I may need one :(

    Willing to drive a reasonable distance if reputation/price warrants doing so.

    Symptom that lead to taking the truck into him: Felt like I was driving on rumble strips (the grooved pavement along highway lane edges) randomly that would stop when I let off the gas. He's already replaced the carrier bearing, but with the truck at 250,000 miles, he suspects that a rebuild might be necessary
