So for the past few months I've been having a transmission shudder when the truck is accelerating around 2000 rpm and the transmission shifts rough when downshifting at highway speed. This is the sure sign of a broken motor mount (99% of the time), so we pulled the motor mounts and they were both in good condition.

Keep in mind I just replaced a U-joint and bad carrier bearing on my drive shaft a few weeks ago. Turns out the clutch packs are bad and when we pulled the pan on the tranny there were metal filings in the fluid. Needless to say the transmission has to get re-built or replaced with a re-built one. What's the pricetag? $4000 f-ing dollars. I'm sorry but 60K is an unacceptable lifespan for any transmission.

Anyone else have their transmission go out this early? Regardless of the fact my truck is used as one, I still am having a hard time getting my head around this.

Depending on the year, 60k is warranty work.

My manual only made it to 30k. Advanced adapters makes an adapter to go from the 1GR to Chevy TH400. You won't break one of those, and they are considerably less expensive.

Marlin Crawler has not come out with an option for the 2nd gens yet (to my knowledge). Are there any aftermarket upgrades I could purchase / install?
