Ok guys i just bought 2009 automatic 2 wheel drive Tacoma 180000 miles. I noticed a shutter at low speed when transmission shifts. At faster acceleration it not noticed. The flush of transmission at 100000 was not done by previous owner. Should i get the machine trans flush from Toyota or just change it myself correctly, or do nothing?

I'd consider curtains, but if shutters are your thing I won't yuck on your yum.

Search around the shudder is common and there have been a few functional solutions - additives, flushes, fluid/filter changes and swapping the torque converter.

And yes you can get a full flush at the dealer and that does all the fluid because the pan holds like 2 quarts and the converter the rest (most).
I did at 100k and now nearing 200k so will do again but not cheap but did help my shifting and torque converter lock up (more positive).
Many opinions on the good or bad of a full flush and that is common on TW.
We give opinions and what the result was then you have to decide your course of action.

If you're comfortable with the process and have the necessary tools, you can change the transmission fluid yourself (as I did). The hardest part was to choose the right fluid type and quantity.

Thank you guys. Sorry for my spelling issue I’m from Mississippi. i think I’ll just change it myself. Can’t see how putting new fluid in could cause the situation to be worse. Thanks again for your responses.
