I'm running the KDMAX 6.0 87 octane regular throttle. There have been a couple of times now that I have let off the accelerator and then lightly stepped back on it only to have the RPM shoot up abruptly without a gear engaging. It feels like my truck is neutral when it happens. I've been able to recreate it a few times intentionally. It seems like if I let off the accelerator just as the gears are about to change and then reapply gas the transmission simply gets hung up. If anybody else has experienced this I'd like to know.

Only thing I can think is you caught the truck in the middle of a shift when you hit the gas the 2nd time

    Definitely talk to @PapaRee

I'm not sure what changes there are, but if I had to assume, it's the torque based shifting map(s). You're likely crossing the threshold, causing a downshift and upshift by teetering on the line.

This is all an assumption though.

You notice this in slower speeds and only on cold start up?

Any time I've load a new tune things feel different so there is some settle in time especially if you reset AT/LV usually a tank or 2. The transmission learns all the time, changing files by changing shift points and throttle angles takes a while for the transmission to adjust to the changes. Give it some time it will work itself out, the more you drive it settles in faster. I have KDMAX 6.0 NO issues here!

Could be coincidence, you may unfortunately have other issues that popped up around the same time. I sure hope they still can't see tunes at the dealer, cause if detected, seems like any easy way out for them.
I'm not anti tune, I'm intrigued, but also have these fears too.

Mine does the same thing stock, just feels like I caught the transmission logic off guard. Like it thought I was slowing down more, but I decided to speed up. Never worried about it

I have a 2020 stock. Mine did the same about a month ago, 30k miles. Dealer going to check it over next week. Low pressure fuel pump is being replaced so I mentioned it to the dealer. I was also slowing down Then pressed on the accelerator.

This can happen on any tune within the first few tanks after flashing as the ECU re-learns to adapt to its new parameters. I would give it 2-3 tanks of gas to settle out before worrying about it.

That's what seems to be happening. The odd thing is that the gear doesn't engage until I let off the gas and reapply it.

It's happened doing 75 down the highway after an hour of driving and also in a parking lot right after starting it.

I may give it a little longer but I probably have about 400 miles on it now.

Strange. Mine never did this before. I may flash back to stock and see if it still happens. If so I'll have to take it to the dealer because it definitely shouldn't do that in my opinion. Do you by any chance also have deceleration vibes?

Are you u giving it a little more gas, the truck downshifts, u let off, then get back in the gas and then it seems like it's in neutral? Honestly I think that's normal. The truck is deciding what gear to go into. "should i still downshift, or upshift". Almost like a rev hang.

Is that the sequence of events? Your driving style may be different than what the tune is expecting now that it's changed.
