Couple of weeks ago I noticed my transmission slipping. Got home and crawled
Under the truck and found the rear seal on the
Tranny output shaft leaking. Called the dealer and got it fixed. Along with that they drained and replaced the a/t fluid. Took about 2-1/2 hours. That afternoon while driving up an on ramp, the tranny slipped a little bit. Next day while driving back to Baton Rouge, it slipped a little bit while going up an on ramp. Outside Mobile, I had to make a sudden slow down and when I sped back up it slipped again. Got back to Baton Rouge, drove it carefully all week to work and had no problems. Saturday I took the truck out and drove it a about 5 miles, got up to about 55 hit the brakes and then sped back up and got some slippage. Took to toyota dealer here and they mentioned that when changing the a/t fluid, it is about a 7 hr job (not 2-1/2). They kept it overnight and took it on 2 test drives the next day and could not get it to slip. Anybody else run into this?? 2006 DC pre-runner v6 145000 miles.

Sounds like it was low on fluid before and after they did the repair .

    Whats the mileage ?
Fortech created an excellent write up on how to properly check the fluid at home . If you are interested to see if your truck is low , click the link below
