Hi! I'm fairly new to this site, but i see tons of usefull stuff going on here. especially for the fact that majority here find interest in wrenching time away on their rigs! I've got a stock '95 taco, its a 2.7L 4cyl with a list of mods coming to be done! But first off, i wanted to take out my 4 speed auto and drop in a 5 speed MT. I'm very mechanically inclined and have a pretty good idea of what needs to be done and where to start. However, if there is anyone here that has done it before, or has a link for a website with awesome info about the swap to the details, that would be insanely appreciated!:) Thanks a ton in advance!

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
IIRC = If I Remember Correctly.

The ECU will trigger the CEL because of the auto tranny being gone. The fix would be to get the wiring harness and ECU off of the same model manual.

So FIRETRUK, what you're saying is my cluster will light up like christmas tree! But will the engine run fine, and truck still be drivable? Because i would be able to get my hands on ECU and HARNESS off of MT truck, just might not be right away. And in my state, they dont check emmisions of anything under '96 so check engine light wont be an issue.

if emmissions is not an issue i dont see a problem with it, although you will get check engine codes for the auto trans (or lack there of) read over the threads i posted and surch further on

well with that one thing out of the way, do you or does anyone here know if i would be able to keep my t case and driveshafts and mate it to the manual tranny? or would i have to get those from a donor truck also to get a proper fit? How bout clutch pedal set up, and slave cylinder? would i have to fabricate and modify anything? or would all that just bolt in?
