Transmission temperature for checking fluid level?

    Yes; shift through the gears to cycle.

    By three times, I mean repeat the whole procedure three times. My point being is it will require at least 9.9 quarts, plus whatever it takes to achieve overflow; it's not just replacing 3.3 quarts like the chart would lead one to believe.

    ...and fnish with temp check procedure and reset thermal degradation value.

    Thank god I have the 2.7 L. This is ridiculous, the user doesn’t even have the ability to check their on transmission fluid level. Cannot stand these modern transmissions by Toyota. Put a freaking dip stick in the damn thing. Ridiculous.

    This is an old thread, and it has misleading info in it. The sealed 750 series transmission fluid level check range is 115-130deg F per the Factory Manuals. The trans will drop a little over 2.5qts with each drain. Techstream displays both transmission temp sensors. Wait until both sensors read at least 115 deg before popping the overflow plug

    The trans fluid takes a long time to reach 115 and will stay in range for quite some time. Be very careful not to burn yourself on the exhaust.
