    Here’s a cool idea I stole off of a 4 Runner thread.

The thread was an about the temperature sensor gauge I just happen to see the gauge in a pic.

    View from directly above

View from sitting back in seat .

As you can see the 4 Wheel Dr. shifter somewhat blocks the view

But you can lean forward a little and see it just fine .

I highly recommend a Auto meter angle ring

I pointed mine up and to the left

You may have to move some of the shifter harnesses under the plastic

Also, you will need to cut one side of the bracket that comes with the auto meter or bend the auto meter bracket to get it to work at an angle .

I fasten them down with zip ties

    Sorry I don’t have pictures

Rest of the steps are pretty easy

Like my pappy always said ... Measure twice

    Cut once...dummy

Don’t forget to double check the millimeters of your gauge versus the millimeters of your holesaw. Holesaw should be Slightly smaller

Here it is flat mounted... I added the gauge ring later

In the truck , Clears just fine flat mounted.. after moving those harnesses

Do this at your own risk

I am not responsible if you do this haphazardly.
