Transmission Temperature??

Can i just beam the pan or one of the transmission lines to the
cooler with my temperature gun for that 113 degree temp that i need
to check my fluid or does it HAVE to be in that stupid temperature check mode?

You can do whatever you are comfortable with, but it will not be accurate. This has been discussed in other threads. Why not do it right? It takes less than 2 minutes to get in to temperature check mode.

Whats the proper way to get it into temperature check mode? Jump OBD port 4 and 13 and then what? Or is that wrong already?

Toward the bottom of the first post there are links to PDFs of the proper procedure. The PDF for the 60f is for the 6 cylinder, I believe.
Good luck. It's really not difficult. Just be sure to remove the jumper before checking the fluid level, as described in the document. And as others have suggested, maybe practice getting into check mode once or twice so you don't spend lots of time doing it for real and overheat the fluid.

Just to clarify - the 60F is 4WD and the 60E is 2WD. However, they are basically the same transmission with either a transfer case or a tail shaft bolted on the end.
