5 days later, and all we have is a bunch of popcorn-eaters and subscribers!

Has no one actually heard anything about this, still?

I tried a quick Google and found nothing.

To the OP... where'd you get this info?

A TSB is just a documented solution to a problem.

If your truck is under warranty and the warranty covers the parts that are a problem, then the warranty covers the TSB.

If it isn't a covered part, or if your warranty has run out, then you pay the bill.

The only exceptions are the occasions when Toyota will, in the interests of customer service, pay for an out-of-warranty repair. TSB or no TSB, they could do this if they think it is good customer service.

I will be taking my truck in tomorrow. I will let everyone know then.

I have a friend that works at corporate and he knows of this problem. He called me last week to let me know that the bulletin is out.

I will try and call him to get the bulletin number.

Waiting for a TSB number then I'm gonna take my truck in for a tranny fix and a new idler pulley.

Will we have to take them for a ride to prove it? With or without weight in the back

Take them for a ride with them in the back? Maybe they're going to roll underneath so they can listen better?

What year did this "problem" start? Mine is a 2010 and it seems the trans shifts down to fisrt gear too early. I also noticed heavy (enough to slow down the car) engine braking when coasting to a stop light.

It may be designed that way and some may like it, but it is an automatic and should coast when in neutral.

Watching this thread closely, hopefully they can fix it, as this is an electronically controlled transmission.

    http://www.aboutlawsuits.com/toyota-accelerator-problems-class-action-6825/

"Choi and Park allege that some of the blame for the sudden acceleration involves the electronic throttle control system, known as the ETCS-i. They say that the original design for the system included a safety feature that would have put the engine into idle mode in case of unintended acceleration. However, the company allegedly decided to sell the vehicles without the feature in 2001."

You guys think this is related to the "idle mode"?
