    No more Turd-gen :)
Toyota does make good vehicles. I agree about the 3rd gen but I love my 4Runner. I liked my 2nd gen and loved the FJ. Sorry to hear about your issues, do what makes you happy brother. Life is too short

I agree the 3.5 is gutless at lower RPMs but have you driven the manual yet? It's geared lower and the fact that you chose what gear it's in really makes the gutless low end a non issue. If you like the truck but hate the powertrain I suggest giving manual try.

Am I reading correctly that two people with 2017s did not read other 2016 reviews of this truck? And that they did not test drive the truck long enough to realize it was not to their liking? Rev 1 TSB and doing all the trans fluid levels will wake up your truck. If someone says other wise they are lying or did not get the Rev 1 done correctly. It is not a huge improvement but it sure is better than factory.

Funny, my dealership refused to check it on their dime. So I purchaced fluid from them, checked it, filled it and then told them afterwards. To which they had nothing to say.

I love my manual, I don't think it's gutless below 3K. It does come alive above 3K but I don't expect it to be a peppy as a car down low. I just drive it accordingly.

Well I had this done last time my truck went and have actually been happy with it. The delay going from reverse to drive is completely gone. I've also been experimenting more driving with the ect pwr button on and the truck drives way better in my opinion, not as much erratic shifting. I'm happy again with the truck, other than my blind spot monitors going out..... Oh well, still under warranty for a while so we'll see how it goes. Just over 10k for miles too by the way.

This is my first Tacoma. I don't know what to look for or feel for all these issues everyone is crying about. I drive my truck to the ground every where I go. So on that note... what should I be looking for/ feel for so I am able to complain too? I may want to lemon my taco to get a new taco

I brought mine in for the same issue and they said "normal operation". Lol. Do you have the invoice to show me? I'd love to use it as evidence. If not, do you know the TSB? Any info would help. That clunk is driving me nuts! Can't be good for long term durability. Thanks!

They sad gas mileage was normal. They say they can't do anything about any of the problems because it didn't do it when they test drive it. That's the biggest reason I'm done with toyota.

So it's your dealership screwing, not Toyota? Did you call yota?

Maybe you should use your cell phone to record it, but when your get in a wreck doing it, it will be your fault for using your phone, not yotas.

I believe his 3rd Gen was another one that got bought back as a Lemon and then picked up the 4R.
