Hey guys.. I'm new to the site and did some searches for this problem but I cuoldn't find what I was looking for or it comes up as a different topic and I apologize if this is a repeat question... I'm just looking for a little help. My 2010 Taco has this noise it makes everytime it is put in drive and begin to accelerate. The closest noise I can compare it to is someone saying the word "WHEW". It happens everytime and there is no slipping or other noises. Anyone else have this and what is it?

I know exactly what you're talking about man, but have no explanation. Sounds like something in the engine is engaging or something of those sorts. Prolly not a prob though :)

Have you tried looking up TSBs/recalls on Google? Try: www.alldata.com or www.technical-service-bulletins.com/. If that yields no results, search on here but choose the show posts option and maybe threads. Could also be that your truck is so new that there isn't as much info/TSBs for it. Good luck!

Mine does that. It sounds like a servo on a remote control car IMO. Nice to finally know what that is :D

Mine does it too...like it was already said...ABS calibrating. It is a truck full of odd noises.

I have this too, never knew quite how to describe it though. Sounds more to me like a spring under light tension being "twanged" from the side....maybe.
