Of course they do. Thats were we get "Fish-N-Chips" from. A fisherman caught a fish that was dinning on a Potatoe, and decided to cook the 2 together. :D

While all the technical definitions I've found do indicate that a potato would qualify as litter...because all the definitions talk about "objects" - they all also mention "rubbish" and a potato fired from a potato gun is clearly NOT rubbish.

    It's a perfectly good potato.

You guys worry about potatoes in the ocean - yet when you go wheelin, some of you will cut new trails and wheel in not-so-legal areas?

Really...well that sucks! I don't want to chance it at the beach because I think cops are a bit more anxious to write a ticket (let residents of other states add to their state budget).

Crap! I really wanted to fire a jelly fish

Tell them its NOT a potatoe gun/cannon, but rather a Vegitable accelerator, and you are conducting research on how the cells of veggies react to impacts with water.

whatever. i wasnt trying to start arguement or lecture on the environment. i dont know what the laws are about throwing stuff into the ocean from the beach and just because a small number of people trail blaze, doesnt mean that every single person who 4wheels does it.

where i live, it doesnt matter if its editable or biodegradable. if you leave it behind its illegal. and the point isnt if its illegal or not, its littering and its our environment yada yada blah blah blah

Stand in front of our gun and I'll show you a killer potato!

Our first potato went through the 1/2" plywood target and continued on to put a potato shaped hole in the side of his barn

Wow...I thought you were kidding about littering a potato into the ocean.

What about those damn hermit crabs who leave their shells everywhere?

Good point! Being as they live in them, would it not be viewed similar to someone parking their trailor at the beach and leaving it there?

Soon enough, a potato is going to break into chunks and seagulls/birds will pick it up and eat it. I fail to see how this is even considering litering, when something will eat it. I'd rather it be in the ocean where it will be eventually eaten than filling up a landfill.

    Jellyfish revenge!! :D

The cops would probably be more concerned with WHAT you're throwing out of the canon. As far as they know, you could have some sort of powder of mass destruction hidden in those potatoes and you might be plotting to kill the whales & plankton.;) :p

You should volunteer on the Sea Sheppard and show them how to throw potatoes at the japanese. :D
