Just picked up a set of Rocky Mounts clutch SD. Front wheel off the road bike and the bike locks in place with a good hold. I picked up some rubber washers to use in the mounts when no bike is attached to prevent the vibration that occurred

All and all, happy so far.

I used Teflon for mine. I leave mine on the truck all the time, so I was worried about the rubber drying out.

How did you go about making these? I have been wanting something to put in mine because to tighten it each time is such a pain in the ass.

Whatever thread size you need. I tapped mine and a few others for 1/4-20 since that's what fits through the Rocky Mounts clutch.
I plan on tapping some 5/16 or 3/8 and using them for the bed divider that I am building.

That's cool. I thought about using them for my bed rack. I think the bolt's I have are 5/16-18. I'll have to check. I'll PM as soon as I'm certain and we can talk. Thanks!

I find that a hitch rack lets the bike double as a clothes line nicely. :D

I bought my Thule rack for my 4 runner and a freind said that with the bikes on it they blocked out the brake lights and turn signals. So i mounted trailer lights on the rack.

I used to mount them above the bed using an old Thule rack. Then I decided to get them out of the windstream by taking the Thule apart and mounting the clamps/uprights on the bed. Works really well unless you are hauling dirt and have to clean it out.
