Update!! Windrock Trip Jan 25-27!

Hey fellas. A buddy of mine in a 07 4Runner and myself in a 13 Tacoma are heading up to Windrock Park this weekend from Atlanta. Anyone wanna join? Plan on heading up Friday evening after work (around 6) and coming back Sunday evening. I’m on 32” tires and on a 2.5” lift with sliders. Buddy has 33” with similar setup along with a front bumper and winch. I mention this to say that we won’t be hitting anything ridiculous. This will be the first time either of us has been. I know it’s last minute but if anyone wants to join let me know!


**1/17 UPDATE! Heading to Windrock the 25-27th. Have 2 confirmed +myself going and a handful of people interested. Weather is looking great for that weekend. If interested comment or shoot me a PM!!

 

Hey all. Change of plans. Found out that the weather is going to be booty(should’ve looked at this sooner) and although it’s not a big problem, we’d rather wait for decent weather to make the drive all the way up there and spend the money to wheel and camp.

SO, this being said, we are planning on heading up towards Clayton to Trey Mountain, then we may possibly venture towards Earls ford and Sarah’s creek area. Leaving early thirty Saturday AM. Comment or shoot me a PM if you’d like to join! As of now it’s myself, 4Runner buddy, and another buddy in a FJ cruiser.

Be aware that Tray mountain’s east side (fun side) is currently closed. Not gonna tell you not to go, but if they catch you on the closed road they will issue you a ticket. That being said, there are still people that go anyway. you will probably run into other groups while you are there.

 

Hmmmm, I had seen something where it may be, but I was unsure if it was for the previous year or not. Thanks for the heads up! Worst case scenario we’ll head towards Clayton.

 

Dont know if yall decided to go or not, but if you go to Clayton, hit up Universal Joint. Its on main street. One of my favorite places to eat and drink. Never had anything there that wasnt good. I live in Clarkesville GA now so when the wife finishes school ill be able to do some trips. The weather today has been pretty cold and now rainy and freezing rain. Working EMS today.

 

@Gilmorec61 is Zach in the black 4runner with plate bumper and rtt in your party? If so we just convoy'd from 400 down to Newnan. Stopped and checked each others rigs out and talked for a few. Interested in joining you guys in the future for sure.

 

Yessir! He sent a pic earlier of your ride and said that you’d seen my build thread on here. Awesome that y’all ran into each other! Absolutely man. I’ll always post on here anytime we go ride. We’re currently planning a trip to windrock (we were supposed to go this weekend, but weather) in the next couple weekends. If you’d be interested let me know!

He also mentioned you’re in Newnan as well, my parents and majority of my friends live in that area so I’m down there fairly often. We’ll have to link up!

Man what a bummer Goal is to not break anything this trip, we'll more than likely stay on the fairly moderate trails. Although I wouldnt mind something where i get to test out my sliders a bit. My rack and pinion recently started leaking, I'm hoping it wont completely give up while we're there but we will see.

 

There is a ton of mileage out there so you will find something for you. Blues sound like what you're looking for

 

@Gilmorec61 you guys staying at the Camp Ground? I may be interested. Where are you guys meeting before you roll out? I assume you guys will leave out and head up I-75?
