I came across this on the net some time back and don't believe I ever posted it. I was in one of those "find as many docs as you can" moods, I was searching for the OEM souped up skid plate  at the time.

This doesn't come up all that often but might as well preserve it here on TW.

    Original Toyota Part# PTR29-89020

    Applies to:
    96-02 4Runner
    97-98 T-100
    97-04 Tacoma
    00-03 Tundra

Thanks for posting that. I've been half assed looking for a SC for my 04.

If I ever find one for cheap, this file will come in handy.

I did see that. I've bought complete cars for less.

I hope he gets his money, but there is a absolutely no reason those SC are worth that kind of money.

You can buy all sorts of different brand scers for other vehicles for less than $500.

What keeps these things so expensive? It makes no sense to me.

Exactly.... Dumb folks keep forking money for nonsense which adds to seller's greed. I bought a running 2003 Corolla S that the seller couldn't pass smog due to CAT monitor not being ready. After 20 buck worth of Walmart supplies and 15 buck for Felpro gaskets, passed smog no issue.

Oh yeah, I paid $800 for it BTW. After smog and registration, got everything done for under $1k, including the purchased price.

    People see, people do.

    Pre-covid, I see 2nd gen 4R/pick up go for 1.500 to 3k, now they're listing them for $10k+

People love their tacos, and it's that or a turbo to make more power. See a market? Corner it
