TRD 4x4 DCSB MT where's the Chrome Bumper?

According to the Tacoma Brochure a 4x4 OR should come with Chrome bumpers and Painted bumpers with the Prem/Tech package. The dealership here has a few 4x4 OR's with painted bumpers with no Prem/Tech package. I know it does exist just seeing it here at TW. The dealers cannot answer why. Anybody got the answer?

The no tech package should have the chrome bumper.
If you get the tech package then it should have color matching bumper.

are you sure it has no tech package?

 

Tech Package is what? Blind spot mirrors, sun roof, what else.

 

basically what you listed plus heated seats, dual zone AC, auto headlights and color matching bumper

 

I remember one guy that posted his order came in with the painted bumper with out premium. Hope mine comes that way! I hate chrome!

 

Yeah. My 4x4 TRD OR came with a color matched rear bumper! I didn't request it that way, it just came like that, which i'm glad it did. I think it looks mo better than chrome. And I don't have any sort of premium/tech packages either. Purchased mine from Servco on Oahu.

Maybe a mid year production change to parts. Just like some 15's and 14's having the auto dim mirror, some not, but still the same package/options.

Dealership is the same as MuddyTacos91 (Servco Oahu) Dealer said that it does not have the Tech Package but the bumpers are painted. Just want to know why. Is it a mistake? Just makes me wonder what else is not what Toyota says it should be. I prefer the chrome to match the wheels i plan on getting, old school fo me. I guess the bottom line question is " should the 4x4 0R with out the Tech Package come with chrome bumpers? Aloha

 

I think more guys opt for the premium and tech because of the chrome. Trucks are moving away from chrome, even the tundra has color matched rear bumpers now on some models. My guess would be the 2017s won't have chrome anymore. But thats speculation.

 

Purchased mine from Servco honololulu. TRD off-road without premium/tech. I got a color matched bumper and super happy it came that way because I was expecting it to be chrome.

 

I'm wondering if they just used sport bumpers if the supply was limited on the chrome ones.

 

Sub'd. I hope they made a running change. Still waiting on my 7545 in Quicksand and first planned mod was to color match the chrome rear bumper. Quotes are around $400-$500 to do it.

 

I am looking for the part numbers for the Quicksand rear bumper caps without the holes for the BSM. if anyone happens to have that info handy I would appreciate it!

I have chrome as well and don't like it.

 

They don't sell them prepainted. These are the part numbers for the unpainted corners (you'll have to have a body shop color match them):

for that cost why dont you buy a stout powdercoated black aftermarket rear bumper and keep the old one in case you want to return to stock when selling? thats what i plan on doing

 

What bumper are you getting?

 

Probably Allpro as soon as it's finished bc they are local for me which makes it convenient and they have great products. Also interested to see what other companies will come out with.
