I got the new TRD Air Filter on my TRD Off Road, I highly suggest this simple addon to your vehicle.

Initial throttle response is night and day in comparison. I have put K&N Air Filters into many vehicles over the years and never seen a difference of this magnitude, all but a Banshee with the airbox removal kit.

Know how when you first hit the gas, there is a somewhat hesitation, from a stop? It is greatly reduced, 64.44 after tax, and it feels like some serious tuning was done.

I'm guessing that first part of the throttle position, air isn't getting in quick enough, hampering acceleration. I can't notice a noise difference in intake noise as well.

I was going to get exhaust to try and boost a little more performance, but I do not think I need it now, due to this simple part.

    Unreal.

I don`t have a TRD filter but it appears to be very similar to the K&N, you clean both of them and re-oil.

I went with the K&N drop in a few weeks after I bought the new truck. I will stick with the K&N drop in unless someone makes a cold air intake that out performs the stock cold air intake.

You are better off keeping you're paper filter. These do nothing for gas mileage, and if not oiled and taken care of properly will screw up your Mass Air Flow Sensor. About as much of a waste of money as an aftermarket Cold Air Intake.

I`ve been running K&N for over 20 years on every vehicle that I`ve owned and never clogged up the mass air flow sensor, those that choose to buy a reusable filter will NEVER buy another filter for that vehicle so YES, there is an advantage, it`s not always about horsepower gain.

I used the same K&N that I bought in 1998 for my 98 Taco and used it in my 01 Taco until Feb 2016, that`s 18 years I went without buying an air filter.

You increase risk of mucking up your Mass Air Flow sensor. Paper is the way to go.

I'm trying to eek out every HP I can. Running 38's, no lift, stock 2.7l. Rubs a little bit, but much less after the first week.
