    Lots baby!
    I have a question.

What is the size of the bolt, that attaches the stock hold down to the radiator core support?

How do you tighten up the other battery bolt, will there be a bolt hole there too?
Looks clean if it's designed without bolts showing on either side of the battery on the top

You start off by adjusting the width to match your battery width.

On the firewall side you will still have a j-bolt. The j-bolt will go through the hole on the dog leg. I will supply a rubber faced stainless washer with a nylock stainless nut to top this off.

The radiator side will have a bolt that attaches to the core support. I will supply one that is stainless, to finish it off.

While this design will adjust to different widths, it does not adjust well to greatly varying heights. Most batteries listed for the 1st gens are vary close in height, with the exception of the optima, which is about 1" lower than the rest. The optimas I have purchased have come with a spacer. This spacer should get you up to the correct height. If I was wanting to use a optima I would use a rubber pad to bring the height up to stock.

I looked at a couple of other variations.

    1. I looked at the strap going to the core support to have a custom hinge. This strap would be slightly adjustable to allow the height vary a little. In the end, I thought the expense of this feature did not warrant the advantages.

    2. I could make the strap going to the core support a separate piece that bolts to the bottom side of the hold down. The beauty of this, is you could shim the strap for slight height adjustments. On the negative side, it will not be as pretty as the design shown, but would be a little more practical.

    3. I do not own a 1st gen, so I can not confirm the following is possible, so one of you will need to comment on this possibility. We could loose the core support strap and add another j-bolt. The means you would have to drill a hole to the to attach the lower j-bolt to.

    Let's hear what you think.

I ran some numbers on what this is going to take:

To make a unit with all of the hardware and domestic shipping (lower 48 states) in raw aluminum - no coatings, figure $75

To make a unit with all of the hardware and domestic shipping (lower 48 states) in powdercoat with a contrasting TRD letters figure $95

If we can get at least ten (10) people that want to play, I will do $65 for the raw aluminum and $85 for the powdercoat. These prices will only be good for the initial group buy. After the initial group buy the $75/$95 prices will apply.

If I can get the ten (10) people, I will make the prototype and do a test fit. I will do this prior to collecting any money, so you can see what you are getting.

After I get a prototype built and fitted, I will ask for funds prior to making a production run. It will take about 5 weeks form the end of the collection of money, to the ship date.

For powdercoated finshes, this is what I have used in the past:

    1. Textured black (matches TRD blower)
    2. Gloss white
    3. Gloss red
    4. Gloss black
    5. Textured red

I have also made the aluminum in a satin/brushed finish and painted the TRD red or black and then clear coated.

    0. Coupe - powdercoated version

Add me to the initial GB list Coupe. Powdercoated textured black with red TRD insert.

Also, just FYI for any interested buyers, I purchased a custom part from Coupe last month for my CAI. The responses were fast, turnaround time was as promised and it turned out exactly as I wanted. The guy's a professional.
