Hey Coupe, previous buyer here(when I had a 1st gen), now have a 2nd gen, looking for a textured red TRD 2nd gen battery hold down.
    PM if available, thanks!

are these TRD hold downs for 1st gens modifiable to fit any better?

i recently found out why the one i picked up will NOT work with the existing hardware on my truck
it was a bit thick at the spot in the back for the rod, it just would not squeeze all the way up to the hole

has anybody else modified there's for an exact fit?
i got the hole drilled in it big enough with just a minimal damage to the powdercoat protecting it

The first gen battery hold down was not designed to work with the stock j-hooks. That is why it was shipped with a new j-hook.

Hey Coupe, been running your hold down for a while and I’m very happy with it.

I’m planning on getting a new battery. Do you know what the biggest group size it can hold is? I’m thinking I want a 27F but Toyota says I need a 24F.

Most batteries are 6 15/16" wide. Some may be a little narrower. The narrow and the wide are fixed at 7" between the jaws. The wide adjustable will adjust out to 7".

I received mine a couple of weeks back....very impressed with the quality. I haven't mounted it yet, or the new battery, but it's going to look very nice when I do.

I'm ready for another, sold the last one with my last truck haha. Put me down for a new raw with whatever lettering or lack thereof costs the least. @Coupe
