Well that sucks I was gonna sell mine instead of ruining them using them as winters.
Had the bronze ones also but sold them a few yrs ago.
Guess I’ll pick up some steels instead!!
I’m really not a fan of painted wheels.
    My summers are bare aluminum.

You ever contact Elmhurst Toyota? I bought from them a month or two ago and they still had 3 or 4. I mentioned them earlier in the thread I think.

Thanks, yeah I just checked Elmhurst on ebay and they're selling the bronze for $367 per wheel with free shipping. I'm tempted to buy them but $367 seems too much.

It is. I got them for 300/ea including shipping having messaged the seller on ebay. I was not going to pay that much ($367 that is). Basically it works out to the original cost plus 50 bucks a pop for shipping which I could stomach. The ebay listing is not what they'll sell them for, if you go directly to their site it'll show them for 300. Message the guy, haggle some and see what happens. He'll probably sell them for 300 a wheel including shipping. Good luck

damn! I paid around $220 new online for my grey ones almost 4 years ago, not including the lug nuts. I wanted the bronze ones (bc pyrite mica) but they were out of stock everywhere. I use to take the lock rings off every winter bc if the truck sits outside, ice/snow builds up behind it and unbalances the tire. I haven't put them back on since winter 2019, I like the way it looks w/o them.

Ever since I've had my truck which was almost 5 years from now, I'd always wanted the beadlocks but wanted to take care of bills first so I'd figure I'd put it aside til I was ready to buy. I use to see them for the same price :(

Does that mean they’d also be available again? Every dealer I’ve talked to has said they’re “on backorder” rather than “discontinued”. But, the impression I get is that they probably wouldn’t produce them again and that backorder is just a precursor to formally being discontinued.

Im hoping for them to come back .. i really like those wheels for fitment and asthetic reasons. Also when toyota usa released the trd lift kit video in July this year, those wheels were featured in the video … why would they release that video after “discontinuing” the wheel

    hmmm

    good old Beadlocks
    -style played out
-16", so you can't fit a good brake
    -expensive
-16", so you have less tires to pick from
    -old design
    -no longer made

    Method:
    -bead grip ridges
    -looks better
    -newer
    -17"
    -made and available

    Gotta love it

LOL. Thanks for your opinion but I don’t think you’re changing any hearts or minds. Those are some minor cons that clearly aren’t a big deal for those who do like these wheels.

IMO Methods are WAY more played out that these TRD wheels. Every joe with a Tacoma, Jeep or any other off-road vehicle, even Subarus are all running black Methods. I can’t think of a more ubiquitous, boring or played out wheel brand than Method. Nothing against them - in fact cheers to them for their success. I just chose not to follow the lemmings.

I don’t need larger brakes, my stock ones work great. There are better tire size options for 17s, which is a disappointment but there are still plenty of great 16” options. And you get more sidewall with a 16 vs a 17 so that’s another win.

The TRD wheels also have a more friendly width and offset for those of us who aren’t trying to run massively wide tires or bro style low offset wheels - again, the prevailing, ubiquitous trend that many of us have no interest in being a part of.

    cheers!
