i don’t know why shops manage to fuck this up. Set a 1/2 torque wrench to 86 ft lbs and final tighten til it clicks in a star pattern. After you’ve given them a quick blip with an impact to get them snug so the torque wrench doesn’t wear out doing all the work (torque wrenches are meant to final tighten only, not be used as a ratchet)

    It’s not even difficult

Anyone who takes their craft seriously and does it professionally to put food on the table is going to have a torque wrench

usually a Snap-On TQFR250 1/2” or version of it. Made by precision instruments. Which can be bought for $120ish used, and kept/used for a lifetime (can be re calibrated if needed)

another option if you can’t find a wheel could be welding or switching to a whole set of Methods which may be heavier and stronger. I don’t know why their boxes say Made in China all over them…

    Stock, 4WD, Access Cab, White,
    Scrap it.

Even post "repair" the wheel will have residual stresses that initiated the original crack.

Consider......6 lugs share the driving forces......now 5 are sharing the same driving forces....or a 20% increase in load on each of the 5 remaining intact lug holes.

The wheel may have additional beginning cracks.

    Good Luck with your decision.

This is true. It also may be difficult to balance if you can get it fixed.

I will be VERY surprised if they actually have them in stock. Many of us have been looking for these wheels, replacement caps...etc for a while and the concensus is that they're out of stock and likely discontinued and never coming back. But who knows, there have also been ads for newer Tacomas still using these wheels so maybe Toyota will restock them.

Some of the online dealers show them as unavailable/discontinued and some show them as available. But, everyone that has ordered them gets a call, email... afterward notifying them that the wheels are, in fact, unavailable. I hope your experience is contrary to that but I think it's very unlikely :(

I have a gold one that I need to get rid of. I've been using it as my spare but recently found a matching wheel I can use for my spare so just need to swap tires and then my gold one will be available. Shoot me DM if that new one doesn't pan out and you're interested in mine.

Hello, I had this issue with a Rock Warrior rim off my 2010 tundra. DO NOT have it repaired and quite honestly don't drive on it. They are out there you can find them.

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
When that thing comes apart at freeway speeds, it's gonna be a shitshow! I definitely would not keep that in service. You might kill you or somebody else on the road.

Not entirely. You can repair the inside of the "rim" part of a wheel and an experienced aluminum welder can do it without damaging the alloy. I am currently running a wheel I repaired(correctly) that was cracked on the inner edge from a pothole and have been for about 2 years(~18000 miles). It's held air no problem, been wheeled hard, and driven 90+ MPH. Balances fine too. That said, I would never try to repair the outside face of a wheel. There is far to much stress on that area of the wheel.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Seen that crack before. Those wheels like to fit super tight to the hub, if a tire shop zips them on and it binds they can crack. The discount tire down the street was famous for destroying tundra rock warrior wheels

I absolutely HATE it when a manufacturer (OE or aftermarket) discontinues beautiful rims like the TRD beadlocks.

This whole entire ordeal is unfortunate, as it should never have been an issue in the first place.
