i was thinking about buying the TRD CAI from dealership but was thinking the price might be too high... might end up going with a K&N CAI

$390 for the intake at trdparts4u. Seems high for a CAI.

I agree. I am up here at 5-7 thousand feet altitude. I noticed at first for the manual trans a smoother take off, seemed to breath so much easier. Calmer sounding motor at the lights, and better gas mileage. The only time I noticed a hp difference was when we went to the coast ( sea level ). I know that already helps but last time I went there i used my iphone dyno and ran a ton of numbers. I know they are not really that accurate but my fuel gauge doesn't lie. And on the butt dyno I was taken back, sure it could be sound coupled with sea level hp help but I don't care, it was worth it, awesome and fun!

Any of you guys ever had issues with this CAI setting off the CEL? I've read someone mentioning a while ago about this newer version of TRD intake triggering that..

Missed this question... My CEL is in fact on, but I credit that to the fact that my exhaust is completely different from stock, and when I took out my rear cats, I found pieces of rear cats in them. I am almost positive that my front cats shit the bed.
