its cause the aclb is the same wheelbase as the dcsb so it shares the same exhaust

Out of curiosity, did you replace the gasket (17451-0A010), if not, do feel this may have added to the accentuated drone sound?

No....my rig was only a few weeks old when I through on the TRD. The gasket was basically new. And no....the drone is just the nature of an even-fire, 60° V6 engine. The exhaust pulses are very close together, making it naturally a bit buzzy. A 90° odd-fire V6 would sound better but you would give up refinement, as a 60° V6 is inherently better balanced than a 90° V6.

At the end of the day, sound quality is subjective. And at idle and above 4000 rpm, it sounds great. Unfortunately it sounds it's worst in between those areas.....where you spend 90% of your time. And the highway drone is maddening.

    But that's only my opinion

This is literally what I needed to read. Thank you Plain Jane! I put this on and was wondering if I needed a new gasket to lessen the drone between idle and above 4,000 rpm. It's not a bad sound output by any means, but I think the notes that the TRD produces on the FJ (perhaps a 90° odd-fire V6?) is ideal.
