I understand the CAI will make the truck louder. But how much louder?

    Any approximations?

I already have a mellow Magnafow muffler.

i would skip on an intake......expensive as hell........and not worth what little gain you may get. i'd go with a good drop in filter.....such as the afe pro dry s..............and you will have better mileage at a fraction of the cost of an intake. just a heads up!!! plus.......that fiklter can be washed and dried and reinstalled.....no need for oiling it.

installed the trd cai and i love it. also have the trd cat back. i have to say the cai made quite an improvement. more than i thought it would. easy install and nice fit. i cant speak for the other brands, but i would recommend the trd set up. as far as mpg's, i just clocked 17.25 mpg, v6 6spd dc 4x4 shrt bed.

Don't lie to the poor guy about the sound.

A CAI will change your engine tone a little, but when you wind the engine up it will howl like a raped ape. At redline it's all you're gonna hear.

    It's rather wonderful :D

So, I want one too. I see the URD one is about $300 and the TRD one is a little more.

Which to get? The URD one seems creative in it's plumbing out to the very front of the car to get the true cold air not from the engine compartment.

But I think that at speed, the wind blowing into the engine bay is cool enough. Right?

Depends on how hard you drive it. :D Intake air temp. on my scan gauge reads 5 more then what's outside during norm.driving. :)
