    Looking for some input!

Just bought a TRD exhaust for a good deal (OEM catback) and seller claimed it fits. Though I understand ultimately I'm responsible to know this or not.

And it looks like it. Looks like the only two main differences are in pipe length for shortbed vs longbed, and it matches.

However, I overlooked the final and last hanger by the exhaust tip. It seems this one is at a different angle from stock, by about 90 degrees!
    Otherwise it seems to fit.
    Anyone ever experience this?

The stock exhaust hanger looks like this but no longer fits:
    (straight through on both holes)

but it looks like for a new one, it would have to be "offset" with both holes.
or basically a "twist" like this one from an Infiniti

    I'll take more pictures ASAP

Wondering what the best and cheapest solution would be, such as:
-consult an exhaust shop; they might cut off the stock hanger rod and weld on a new one, new section of pipe, or heat the hanger rod until it's red hot and twist it to a different angle with pliers or a wrench
-install some kind of "twist" new hanger rubber

All of the other parts seem to fit. The front 3 or so hanger rubbers, the flange mating part, and so on. It's just the rear most hanger that is now coming at a different angle, so I've left it unattached (probably not good to do long-term)
    closest near the exhaust tip

Sounds like something an exhaust shop could deal with easily.

You can bend the hanger with a combination wrench. Slip the box-end over the hanger and bend 90deg. Or use a piece of pipe, deep socket, etc.

I tried to but it started to make a creak noise as if to suggest it would break with further pressure, so I stopped
did not have a torch handy at the time so I quit on that idea; figured the heat could soften it up temporarily

and that was on the ground. Now it's installed on the truck so I'm not sure if that would even work anymore. Though it'd be nice.
Was scared that it could rip/tear the hanger rod out of the catback itself and ruin it, leaving a hole in the metal where it's welded on, if it breaks off

edit: I just tried to see if Autozone stocks the Infiniti/Nissan "twist" hanger and found this Walker part that can be ordered:

Interesting! I had to "twist" the rear hanger of my previous URD exhaust, and it went with no issue. I guess the difference in materials is significant enough to matter in this case. Good to know!

here's a pic of the issue
so you also had this, and just twisted the hanger?

The tailpipe hanger on the frame changed 90 degrees from somewhere around 2011-2013. It looks like the catback you bought is for the 2012 and prior trucks. You could try that 90 degree rubber insulator and it might work fine.

weird. Seller of the exhaust said he had the same truck (pre-facelift) and that it worked.
Which mine is also, pre-facelift (technically an '08)
so according to what you're saying, it should match up, but yet doesn't.

Looks like Monday is a holiday, will probably have to wait until Tuesday to ask a Nissan or Infiniti dealer how much for an exhaust hanger.
Since the small twisty one seems to come on their 3.5L V6 cars, such as the 350Z.

Walker exhaust hanger catalog says OEM part number is 35725, with 1 3/8" between the hanger holes
and a twisty version available of part number 35149, but the holes distance is bigger at 2.5"
I think that one would be too big vs the smaller Nissan one, otherwise I'd order it from a general auto parts store

wouldn't that set the truck on fire and melt the spare tire

a torch will probably run $20-50 for the gas canister and handle head
    twisty hanger might be $7
    decisions decisions

Way over thinking this. Bend the hanger and be done with it. Takes 5 minutes maybe

Maybe your truck had the frame replaced and the new frame has the 90 degree hanger. You could go to a muffler shop and have them heat and bend the hanger. That way, if it does crack the pipe, they could weld it up. But any welding would be the first place for rust to start. I'd be interested to see if the 90 degree rubber insulator works in case I need to go that route with new exhaust in the future.

Cut it off after the downturn behind the rear axle. You won't need the hanger anymore and you'll have more clearance for wheeling and a bigger spare.

Worried about rust on an exhaust hanger? Come on man. Bend the hanger and call it a day. Hit it with a rattle can.

I too bought a slightly used exhaust for my 09. Hanger was 90 degrees out. As said in prior responses heat the hanger on pipe till red hot and bend. Easy fix!

Not the hanger, the pipe will rust where the hanger gets welded to it.
