When I got mine, I couldn't find one for my truck on line. they only had long bed. But at the time the price was pretty equal to the dealer. So you best bet is to just check prices and availabilty.

Did you notice that your shift points in your transmission changed? I had a chevy silverado automatic transmission and i changed the exhaust to a flow master then my transmission shifted differently. I was wondering if the same thing would happen if i changed the exhaust and added a cai to my 2007 toyota tacoma TRD.

nice work OP. I havent heard the difference between stock tacoma and one with an exhaust in forever. I wanted to make the same video you did,but my friend installed my trd exhaust while i was at work. You should buy some headers and really open up that bad boy!!:D:D:D

My first attempt at a real mod went great. I bought a TRD cat back about a week ago from shoptrd.com. Paid $422.50 and installed it yesterday. Thanks to this post from thebottomline, things went excellent and I love the sound of this exhaust. Took me a while but I wanted to be careful that I did everything I had to do. Can't wait to try it out on the highway when I head out to work later. Awesome!

Congrats on the purchase. Definitely not worth the money to have the dealership install it.

I have updated the original post, adding a video I took today to let you hear how the intake and exhaust sound 1 year later. I think it is deeper and richer, but see for yourself.

I found it would have cost me about $640.60 if I purchased this from the dealer and had them install it and I wasn't to crazy about that. Your post helped me out alot. Thank you...

So that's what I smell. I was wondering what the heck that was... It kind of reminds me of that "new truck" smell when everything is all new and shiny! Thanks for that info seksilumpia.

Interestingly mine went away within 2 days. Pretty strong odor and it filled my garage after I returned home each time. Can't be good for the lungs...

That was the biggest issue I had was those hangers. Even after dish soaping them up, they are still a pain. I found it easier that after soaping them up, use a large channel lock pliers and place the lower jaw behind the rubber hanger then I placed the upper jaw on the hanger tip (the metal part of the hanger itself that looks like a mushroom at the tip). Then I just squeezed lighty until the hanger got just past the tip and then just pulled it right off. It's the initial "get it past the tip" that's the pain. That worked very well for me... :D

Hey thanks for the write up. Just installed the TRD Cat Back this morning after finishing the CAI last night. Great pics, they helped a lot, mostly for peace of mind. It was SUPER EASY. Seeing your pics ahead of time made me confident I could do it.

I really fought w/ my exhaust hangers on my WRX and I swap exhausts back and forth for SCCA racing and ended buying a hanger tool, if you're really fighting w/ the hangers the tool will be the best $25 you ever spend :D

Wow that looks handy as fuck. But I'll save my 25 doll hairs and use little bit of wd-40 and screw drive
