I ordered a TRD exhaust from my local dealer for my 2013 Tacoma SR5 Prerunner access cab for $400 after going back and forth on pricing for a few minutes. Everything lined up perfect except the TRD exhaust was about 5-6 inches longer than the stock 4 cyl exhaust. I had my local muffler shop cut the stock exhaust just after the catback flange. They measured and cut the TRD exhaust to length and flared it to slip over the stock exhaust and welded it on. The welds aren't pretty but for $40 they work. The shop painted the welds with high temp paint and I did it again when I got home. The sound is nice and deep down low similar to a 350 Z and goes silent when cruising at speed. It's loud enough to sound good and not too loud to be obnoxious. It feels slightly more peppy but it's probably the awesome new sound fooling my butt dyno.

The pictures are poor quality from a cell phone

It would have been cheaper to just weld on an aftermarket muffler but it would have probably been way too loud and had that annoying drone. The TRD sounds perfect ;)

Internet sound clips never sound good or accurate unless you have professional and very expensive video/sound equipment so I'm not gonna bother. It sounds similar and slightly louder than the Nissan 350 Z exhaust = not ricey, very nice deep tone.

NO DRONE= you don't hear the exhaust at all when cruising at a set speed.

Wow that does sound good. I have that same catback on my 2010 V6 and it sounds way better with your I4 engine. Too quiet for me with the 1GR

SO would this fit a RC and just have to be shortened a lot?

That sounds awesome, I was wondering if TRD is available on the 2.7.

Sounds a lot better than what I've heard, though I like the Magnaflow weld in muffler which sounds fairly similar.

Thanks for putting up the vid, I really wanted to hear it.

It still sounds great. I get complements and questions about what exhaust I have all the time.

Any issues with this install, or ordering this exhaust for a 2.7? Just noticed now you said this is the V6 TRD exhaust, which explains why I couldn't find it online for the 2.7.

Is it causing any performance issues or loss of MPG, since it's designed for the V6?
