I've tried all of the above, steelwool, chrome polishing compounds, etc... The pictures I posted is how it looks after cleaning. Never had that problem with any other chrome exhaust.

Mine looks good after 3.5 years. Would’ve thought polishing would’ve worked for you.

    this and that...
the trd exhaust is kinda a rare beast. it does produce a pretty good, mellow sound. its not super loud. on start up you can barely hear it, when cruising you barely hear it. if you get on it though, then youll know you have that badboy there. its like this because trd went the middle route to try please everyone. to have a good sounding exhaust, but one that creates little to no drone, which is always something to contend with when it comes to aftermarket exhausts. if your truck is automatic, and you let the automatic be an automatic (no sport shifting) youll probably fall into that category that has very little (and i mean very slight) drone. if youre standard you wont have any drone to contend with. initally, the exhaust is gonna be ultra quiet, youre gonna question yourself. it does have a break in period, so give it anywhere from a couple days to a week to burn off all that new packing in the muffler. once you stop smelling that new exhaust aroma then youll know youre fully broken in. after that the truck will have a more venerable sound under load. to add to all this, if you choose to make the trd sound even more menacing, but still have that droneless quality, add the urd ypipe. trust me...youll get that sound youre looking for PLUS youll get a smoother more lively powerband across the board.

Finally got to it. Sanded it down and painted it gloss black with the engine block paint. Came out nicer than when it was new.

When I had my C6 Corvette, I spent a lot of time making sure my exhaust tips were always clean and shiny. But at some point I just said fuck it and drove the damn thing.

The one on my '20 PRO...looks like trash. I'll post pictures when I get one. Horrible after only 19k miles & very disappointed!

It seems that the problem is mostly with the black chrome tips. Whatever Toyota uses to black them out is garbage and can't withstand heat.

I’m very happy with my exhaust quality. I pipe it into my bedroom at night to help me sleep.
