    Yeah.
Mine came with it, and I can't say it was a big selling point of the truck. Like @Jesse H I probably wouldn't spend money on it if I didn't have it. I do like the sound and the fact that it is stainless and will probably last a long time.

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
OK OK OK, every thread has one of us. I love hearing trucks/cars with a tuned exhaust. Side note, I had a g1 with glass packs when I was 18. I loved down shifting onto third at 60 and letting them rattle a neighborhood.

My wifes trd exhaust sounds unreasonably loud. The 4runner on a 16 hour road trip is ridiculous. I think it's louder in the cab then out.

    On to my truck.
The trd exhaust is almost unnoticeable inside the cab. At any speed or rpm. Outside, it sounds fantastic at lower speeds but once you apply rpms it vanishes. Which is great on that 16 hour road trip...

My sport, just makes no sound at all. Now that I changed her CV joints. All I hear is tire tire tire. But I'm 45 now, and my sport is a manual. Does anyone make glass packs for g2 tacos?

Who knew worn but not failing cv joints could make such a rumble... Different thread I know

I have one on mine and personally love it. It give the truck a noticeable low growl. Yes it’s overpriced but being in California it’s OEM and it sounds good enough for me. no one will tell me I have to take it off.

I love mine. I find it's the perfect middle ground as far as sound goes

I am thinking of doing the Borla in the near future. I have heard it on the Taco and it sounds really good for a V6 without being loud or obnoxious.

Cut and dump your OEM exhaust.

Better sound, way less money and I know it's placebo but it feels a little faster too.

I mean, it is stock equipment on the Pro so I do not know what's wrong with calling it the Pro exhaust lol.

The Pro comes with the TRD exhaust. Any other truck can be ordered with it. It's not specific to the Pro's like the grille and tail lights.

Like you, I wanted some sound but no drone or excessive noise. I think the TRD exhaust provides that and I really like it. It is expensive new but you can find great deals used if you watch locally. I picked mine up for $100 off of Craigslist.

I have the trd exhaust and intake paired with the manual. It's ok I guess, however, as others have said, it's over priced. Usually when you upgrade your exhaust you pay for it with money and sometimes drone, so at least your only paying $$$ on this one. I have seen some used ones pop up for sale though so maybe keep an eye out on the used market.

I agree with you about the way aftermarket exhausts sound on our trucks. I have never heard the TRD in person. I went with the AFE brand Mach force xp. Nice mellow sound when cruising but opens up when you put your foot down. No drone inside and not obnoxious. Good luck

Another vote for the Borla love mine not to loud no drone on a 8 hr trip. Got my cat back for a steal at $500 was a no brainer for me since I also grew up on glass packs and cherry bombs.

Pretty much what has already been said. The TRD Catback and the Borla are the quietest cat-back's imo. However, if you intend to lift and stuff and 285 spare in the oem location you're better off going with something high clearance. That said, the TRD was and is my first choice. Unfortunately, the MSRP has jumped from $699 to $820 I think. I don't think it's worth that much.

Whatever you decide, drone gets annoying quick on road trips and long drives. I had a flowmaster 40 on a first gen 2.7 tacoma prerunner. It got old real quick.
