Is there a particular model Flow Master? Or did you just ask for the loudest one? :)

OP - I'm curious if they could have gone down a couple more grand on the truck without giving you such a great deal on your trade. So what kind of deal did you get on the truck, can you list the price and complete specs of the truck you bought? Usually a great deal on a trade in at a dealer means not the best deal on the final sale price.

That might be true IF they'd had steered me away from factory install. They just removed the option of them installing it. Since they're having some problem finding what I want, this just removed one obstacle. No big deal.

I didn't buy a particular truck yet. They gave me a price for a truck with the option I want. They gotta find one now.

Personally, I don't think its fruitful to look at just the deal you get off MSRP. Its the bottom line that matters. I got about a grand off MSRP, but I got about $2000 more on the trade in than I was even hoping for. So the bottom line was a very happy figure for me.

Well that doesn't sound to bad then. When I custom ordered my 13' exactly the way I wanted it; I got 3 grand off MSRP, without any trade. So basically you got about the same deal with the one grand off MSRP but an extra 2 grand more than you wanted for your trade. In the end, I'm thinking they're selling the truck for a little more than they would if you hadn't gotten such a great deal on your trade.

I'd still take that price and call the next closest 3 or 4 Toyota dealers on the phone, ask to speak to the sales department, layout the exact specs and ask if they can beat it. Then sit back in your living room while they scramble to work up a better deal and call you back. Put them to work for you from the comfort of your home, it never hurts to ask when your about to drop around 30k. Even an extra 1k in savings might make a couple hour trip to a dealer totally worth it.

I agree with others that the price for the TRD seems high. I have a stainless MBRP cat back dual system that I got from an eBay vendor. I added two Vibrant resonators in the front head pipe and I very much like the sound. Systems like these (and the TRD) are not a great value as you're basically just getting a sound you like (and maybe a look). But, I'm not sorry I did it. It suits me and it's fairly unique.

Edit: You can leave off the resonators if you like loud. There is at least one YouTube video of this system on a Tacoma if you do a search (MBRP with Vibrant resonator).

Can't find it right now, but I got the Consumer Reports report and a "Good" deal was $1500-2000 off. Based on that I think I got a great deal.

have a 3030xl waiting to be installed once i get the time to have it all built. should be a nice difference :)

$1200 for catback install sounds like something someone would be pay if they went to West Coast Customs.

Borla straight swap for factory muffler. All I wanted was sound, didn't buy the truck for performance. $145 installed at local shop. Sounds good (as a v6 can siund) at low revs or while the motor is pulling, mellows out at top end. Quites down on the road unless you are towing. Looked at mbrp, sounded good but just a little to loud, but the dual option with it was sweet. Wish I would of had the local shop run the same duals with the borla.

I installed the TRD exhaust on my 2013 Sport. Truck had 500 miles on it when I did it. I was a little concerned messing with a new truck but it was real easy. Took about a half hour, taking my time.

I agree with him. You might want to check out other dealers for the entire vehicle purchase. I have a blue 14 DCSB trd sport 2wd and it was 27888+tt. I do have usaa and that's where I got my pricing. But with out it I would not pay more then like 28500. As far as the trd cat back system I would buy it online and install it yourself.

I brought in an expired dealer coupon for 15% off parts to Precision Toyota. Asked how much for the exhaust. Told them about trdparts4u and they checked my story then the manager honored the coupon. After tax it was a little less than the shipped to price from trdparts4u.

My wife helped me install it. LOL It literally took 1/2 hour.

I had a Borla on my 05 and between the Borla and TRD. I liked the Borla more. Slightly smaller tubing size (2mm if memory serves me correctly) produced more power in the lower RPM range where these engines typically operate. Plus I like the sound of the Borla 10X better. The TRD has too much of a droan under load in lower RPM's.

Precision Toyota is a stand up dealer in every way. I have bought 3 vehicles there, two tacoma and a tc. They have always been outstanding.

That's the current Blue Ribbon Metalic, right? That's what I'm getting too, but mine is 4-wheel drive. I kinda liked the previous brighter blue better, but this will be fine.

Believe me tho, giving me $7000 for my trade-in the dealer is NOT ripping me off.
