Cheater bar... Use ratchet and put steel pipe on the end of it extending the handle, for more leverage...

WD40 or PB Blaster or somesuch the day before, then a 1/2 breaker bar and a few well placed grunts and choice words....

To the OP, it appears I am one of the "did not really like it". I bought a used TRD for a couple hundred, put it on and what I found was:

o idle to 2K - IMHO sounded like a 4 cyl fart can (a bit quieter, but that was the sound I heard)
    o 2k to 3K - I had some drone/reverb in the cab (I have 0 tolerance for drone)
o 3K to redline - sounded SWEET, great sound and no drone

I removed it since I spend 90%+ of my time at 3K or below, and it just didn't do it for me in this range.

But exhaust note/sound is very subjective. I'm not disrepecting anyone who likes it, just didn't work for me. I came from a v8 Dakota with a Magnaflow weld-in and that sound was great. I started with a glasspack on that truck, but it droned, so off that came. Nice thing about a cat-back though is if you don't like it, a few minutes and you're back to before, and reselling is usually pretty easy. With a weld-in, initial cost is cheaper, but the cost to go back is higher.

Thanks for the help everyone- with a few cuts and grunts did change out the exhaust -made it harder on myself by not using WD40 or blaster on the hangers - either way its on. Exhaust sounds pretty good - agree that would be nicer to have a little noise at idle but with the CAI and this exhaust the Taco sounds pretty good at 2k and above and if you get on the peddle 3k and above great - well see how long I stick with it.

Any suggestions for exhaust that yall like

X2....it cannot be that difficult. Save the $$ install it yourself.

I would not buy a trd exhaust....I like it just the way it is, stock.

    Soon....
Don't put too much torque on it, either with a breaker bar or impact wrench, or you'll end up like I did and sheer off one of the bolts. Use some pb blaster and work with it a bit, it'll break loose eventually.

x2 on using something like pb blaster on the bolts first. I did the same thing by just putting straight muscle into it and broke off one of the bolts.

As for the exhaust itself I personally think the TRD exhaust doesn't have a low enough sound. I went with the Dynomax Ultra Flow and love the sound.

I agree 100%. I got mine put on last week, probably going to have the stock exhaust put back on this weekend.

For no drone and a better sounding exhaust than the TRD go with the Dynomax cat-back. Give a deeper richer sound and no drone. Cheaper too.
