Is it worth adding this exhaust?
Does it add a nice sound or does it sound weak?
Will I notice an improvement in gas mileage or performance

Cat-back exhaust systems are not "worth it" in the strict cost sense as you're buying a look and sound with no real performance or efficiency improvements. That being said, lots of people like the look and sound and are satisfied with that. I don't have the TRD, but an MBRP dual system which I like the look and sound of. I don't get more HP or MPG, but the sound is music to my old hot rod ears and the look takes me back to less complex times. If your budget is limited and you have other more functional mods in mind, do those first.

I got my local dealer to match the trdparts4u price, and saved a bunch in shipping.
    The install is ridiculously easy.
I haven't noticed any real gains in anything, except exhaust noise now matches engine noise, more or less.

I find it to be "a pleasantly voiced exhaust."

Ya I'm looking for a little more noise that's enough for me. I know it won't sound like a V8.
How much did you end up paying?

I ordered my 14 taco with the TRD exhaust...I was nervous I'll admit! I was pleasantly surprised when I got it. It gives a nice growl on startup...it's like it's saying "That's right....that was me...deal with it.". Nothing obnoxious, just a nice tone.

Buy trd exhaust and put it on yourself. It's a bolt up application.

Getting a full cat back exhaust that basically adds no performance to your ride doesn't make much sense to me. I'm gonna go the route of a ton of others and spend 100 bucks or so on a muffler, have it welded in and call it good. No point in paying 3-4 times that for the same sound and performance.

Not worth the money in my opinion. I have one only because I picked it up on craigslist for something like $30. No noticeable performance gains and the sound is just ever so slightly different than stock. Good luck whatever you do.

I won't do a TRD catback again. The sound isn't that great, and I don't see any performance or mileage gains.

Just weld on a better sounding Flowmaster and be done with it.

have to add after the fact, the TRD isn't that great in the warden's and my ears.

its nice sounding but at our age I think we can live with the quiet sounding one instead.

still have the original exhaust sitting in the garage with less than 500 miles on it, but at this point way to lazy and busy with other projects (dam honey do lists).

once the next gen's come out gonna get rid of this 2012 and get a loaded limited for her but keep the 2012 rims if we can get them to fit the new truck.

Gee, it makes total sense to me. I have a well engineered stainless exhaust system that will last, look and sound the way I want it to for the foreseeable future. And, it cost less than lots of other mods that some make that are no more functional and even sometimes adversely affect the handling and mileage of their rigs just to look "badass". (That's something that makes no sense to me.) The point is, while everyone would like to think they do, owners rarely do mods that everyone else "gets" or that others see the value in. If they feel compelled to ask here first before they do, that's their prerogative. But, if anyone wants a TRD system (and there are lots of owners here that have them) and has done their research and know what to expect (and not), then they're likely to be happy with their decision.

He came on here asking if it was worth it. There are a lot of mods that not everyone will like or approve of. Buying an expensive cat-back that doesn't do much if anything in the way of performance isn't worth it. I gave him my opinion. He can take it or leave it. That goes for you as well. ;)

Sounds great, looks nice, plenty of rumble with very little to no drone. Whether people say it helps or not, i don't care....i know it breathes better with it, therefor i feel an exhaust is worth it. Afterall, fuck being stock.

All of that being said, my father's 2010 is on its third gasket and it just started to leak again. This will be the fourth gasket in 28k miles. It starts to leak right where the catback bolts to the y-pipe. The seal lasts good and works out fine for the first 6-8k miles then it leaks again....i don't know if it is something to do with the y pipe or the exhaust or if its cheap gaskets....i'm stumped by it.

The stock exhaust (soon to be replaced) on my 08 has never leaked, never had an issue with it.

My TX pro came with it and it is certainly noticeable but not obnoxious at all.
